The Spectacular Performa ‘09
Famed art historian, author, critic, curator and Performa Director, RoseLee Goldberg created the non-profit interdisciplinary arts organization to fulfill her desire of hosting biennial visual art festivals. This year’s Performa 09, the third edition of the impressive art fair, began on November 1st and will run until November 22nd.
Performa 09 boasts an impressive roster of performers and artists of all kinds - who are displaying a broad range of art, including visual art, music, dance, poetry, fashion, architecture, film, television, radio, graphic design and the culinary arts. Over 80 of NYC’s leading arts institutions, 40 international curators, and dozens of public and private venues around the city are involved in this massive collection of creativity.
